HOW CAN ADVOCACY HELP ME?
By providing short term one to one support for the individual in dealing with Health and Adult Social
Care Services which can include:-
- Taking the time to get to know you and working at your own pace.
- Support in making your views known during assessments, reviews, consultations and other meetings with professionals.
- Provide information and support to help you make your own decisions when looking at Care Homes.
- If a problem cannot be resolved and you wish to make a complaint we would support you in accessing complaint
procedures and supporting you through the process
- By the advocate expressing a person's views and opinions as if they were their own.
WHO WILL PROVIDE THE SERVICE?
Each part of the service is run by a specialist trained advocate who alongside our volunteers will listen and support you through
difficult periods of your life when you choose to access our services.
ADVOCACY DOES NOT:-
- Provide legal assistance
- Give benefits, housing or Welfare Rights advice
- Provide financial advice
We can offer assistance and support in accessing other organizations that do specialise in these areas.
